Biography

Michelle A M Miller is an interdisciplinary artist and writer whose work lives at the intersection of form, feeling, and the layered terrain of transformation. Her practice is shaped by mark-making and memory, where image and language meet at the edge of the ineffable. From this liminal space, she creates drawings, artist books, sculptural forms, and installations—each a tactile meditation on presence and impermanence.

Drawing from a visual vocabulary of geometric abstraction, organic forms, and rich textures, Michelle’s work traces energy flows and distills ephemeral experiences, offering space for personal and collective reflection. Her pieces evoke a sense of the ancient and futuristic, familiar yet uncanny.

She is the co-founder of Interval Paper, a creative publishing studio offering tools and experiences for reflection, reconnection, and thoughtful transformation.

A long-time mindfulness practitioner, Michelle completed the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program over a decade ago—an experience that laid the foundation for her dedicated meditation practice. Her creative work is shaped by a contemplative presence and an ever-deepening relationship to impermanence. As a trained End-of-Life Doula, she brings a conscious awareness of mortality—honoring legacy, meaning-making, and that mysterious threshold we all will cross.

Her artwork and books have been supported by the Puffin Foundation, Women’s Studio Workshop, Atlantic Center for the Arts, and IS Projects, and exhibited at venues such as CODEX, Booksmart, NADA Miami, and the Coral Springs Museum of Art. Her artwork and books have been supported by the Puffin Foundation, Women’s Studio Workshop, Atlantic Center for the Arts, and IS Projects, and exhibited at venues such as CODEX, Booksmart, NADA Miami, and the Coral Springs Museum of Art among others. Her 2023 artist book Erebid/Materia, published by Women’s Studio Workshop, embeds caregiving and grief within handmade paper, memory, and meditative abstraction—offering subtle moments of awe and reflection.

Michelle holds a BFA in Studio Art from Florida Atlantic University and a BA in Art History from Georgetown University. She lives and works in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she is one of the artists at Treefall.
